Advanced Medical Support Assistant

Summary The Advanced MSA position will serve at the New Albany Community Based Outreach Clinic (CBOC) to coordinate with the patient care team to review the clinic utilization by using various reports (e.g., Clinic Utilization Statistical Summary), ensure that the clinic setup is closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinic, and make any necessary adjustments. Responsibilities VA Careers - Medical Support Assistant: Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Establish and maintain efficient communication channels with patients, interdisciplinary teams, VA medical centers, and external agencies to facilitate seamless transitions from inpatient to outpatient care, liaise with non-VA medical facilities, and manages and schedules Consult and Return to Clinic orders for patient follow up care needs; Participating in team huddles and team meetings to manage and plan patient care; Accurate scheduling of patient appointments, providing quality customer service to meet the patient's needs, updating patient demographics and insurance information at time of check in; Oversee pre-appointment requirements for patient visits or procedures, engage in problem-solving discussions during team meetings; Ensure continuity of care by collaborating with the medical team; Work Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
