Job DescriptionSUMMARY: The Placement Coordinator (PC) is responsible for contacting K - 12th students and their families to initiate and complete course placement for the school year. The PC will be required to request any documents needed to complete this process and follow up as needed. PCs will conduct placement conferences with students and legal guardians to ensure accuracy and timeliness in the placement of students' courses. Duties include Special Education and English Language Learner conferences in addition to course placement and other duties as assigned.This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to supporting students and their families and who take pride in delivering compassionate guidance, clear communication, and exceptional service during key transition periods.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.u00b7 Assist families with understanding the documents needed to complete placement and provide guidance on how to obtain these documentsu00b7 Efficiently navigate and switch between multiple systems while assisting familiesu00b7 Become familiar with specific state and school requirements for all schools assigned and organize and assimilate updates as they occuru00b7 Complete a transcript and/or report card review and select appropriate courses in accordance with state and school graduation requirements as neededu00b7 Communicate with families effectively via phone and email to gather academic and special education informationu00b7 Document phone conversations and email communications with students and families appropriately, within Stride tools and databasesu00b7 Prioritize caseloads and balance multiple responsibilities at once while completing tasks within a given time frameu00b7 Implement proper school procedures and follow school specific processesu00b7 Other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:u00b7 Bachelor's degree in education or related field of study ANDu00b7 Minimum of 2 years' experience in an educational or customer service environment ORu00b7 Equivalent combination of education and experienceCertificates and Licenses: None required.OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:u00b7 Available to work an average of 20-30 hours per week (need will vary based on volume of work available)u00b7 Available to work weekends and evenings as neededu00b7 Ability to communicate effectively through multiple channels, including phone, voicemail, email, and chat.u00b7 Work independently with minimal guidanceu00b7 Office 365 and web proficiencyu00b7 Ability to clear required background checkDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:u00b7 Education certificationu00b7 Previous experience in customer service with proven record of achievementu00b7 PowerSchool and/or Salesforce ExperienceWORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
