Description We are looking for a dedicated Major Gifts Officer to join our nonprofit think tank based in Washington, District of Columbia. In this newly established role, you will play a pivotal part in advancing the organization's mission by cultivating relationships with major donors and securing significant contributions. Responsibilities: u2022 Build and nurture relationships with major donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations, to secure significant contributions. u2022 Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans aimed at targeting high-value donors. u2022 Organize and oversee events and activities designed to attract and engage individual and corporate sponsors. u2022 Maintain donor records, including tracking important dates such as birthdays, and arranging personalized gifts or messages. u2022 Create compelling presentations and proposals to inspire existing and prospective donors. u2022 Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Donor Development to execute fundraising initiatives and meet organizational goals. u2022 Conduct research to identify potential donors and develop tailored strategies for outreach. u2022 Monitor and analyze fundraising performance metrics to improve efforts and ensure success. u2022 Serve as a visible representative of the organization in donor-facing activities and networking opportunities. All interested candidates in this Major Gifts Officer position and other full-time opportunities please send your resume to Justin Decker via LinkedIn Requirements u2022 A minimum of 4 years of experience in donor development, fundraising, or related roles within the nonprofit or political sectors. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree from an accredited four-year institution. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel. u2022 Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive messages. u2022 Proven ability to manage donor relationships effectively and secure major gifts of $30,000 or more. u2022 Strong organizational and planning skills, particularly in coordinating events and tracking donor information. u2022 Stable and consistent work history demonstrating commitment and reliability. u2022 Experience working with high-profile donors or Capitol Hill connections is highly desirable.
