Job Description The Field Technician Foreman is a working leader responsible for overseeing and participating in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems at customer and project sites. This role combines hands-on technical expertiseu2014including welding, brazing, and electrical control worku2014with leadership of field crews to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient job execution. The Foreman serves as the on-site representative of the company, maintaining professional communication with customers and ensuring work meets both internal and client standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONBILITES: u2022 Perform hands-on welding, brazing, and fabrication, including TIG and MIG welding of stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum components. u2022 Lead and coordinate field crews on installation, maintenance, and service projects. u2022 Interpret and execute mechanical, piping, and electrical drawings or schematics to ensure accurate installation. u2022 Install and repair mechanical and electrical control systems including conduit, sensors, switches, and wiring. u2022 Conduct daily tailgate safety meetings, verify site readiness, and enforce company and OSHA safety policies. u2022 Inspect completed work for quality, safety, and adherence to specifications. u2022 Troubleshoot and resolve field issues related to welding, assembly, or electrical systems. u2022 Allocate tools, equipment, and materials for each project and verify readiness before mobilization. u2022 Train, mentor, and evaluate field technicians on welding, electrical, and mechanical techniques. u2022 Communicate daily job progress, issues, and resource needs to the Field Operations Manager or Project Lead. u2022 Maintain accurate field documentation including timesheets, service reports, and job close-out forms. u2022 Assist in shop fabrication, pre-assembly, or quality control tasks during periods of limited field activity. u2022 Ensure proper housekeeping, safe tool usage, and organized work practices at all times. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to learn more about how we collect, keep, and process your private information, please review Insight Global's Workforce Privacy Policy: Skills and Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS u2022 High school diploma or GED required, technical or trade school certificate in welding or electrical preferred. u2022 4u20138 years of experience in industrial field installation, service, or fabrication. u2022 Demonstrated proficiency in TIG and MIG welding stainless steel (including pipe, vessel, or structural applications). u2022 Ability to braze and fabricate assemblies with precision and attention to quality standards. u2022 Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including control wiring, instrumentation, and piping. u2022 Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams. u2022 Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. u2022 Proficiency using digital documentation tools for field reporting and timesheets. u2022 Valid driveru2019s license with clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required. u2022 Willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%) and work extended or irregular hours as required. u2022 Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and performing work outdoors or in confined spaces.
