This is work assisting refrigeration/HVAC mechanics, operating engineer masters, electronic technicians and other building systems personnel in assembling, installing, replacing, repairing, coating, maintaining and operating building mechanical systems. To assist a journeyman level tradesman and to learn the trade by on-the-job training or formal instruction as prescribed by the employing agency. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Performs limited tasks relating to refrigeration, HVAC and building systems operations under close direction by a skilled tradesman in each of these disciplines as part of an ongoing u201con-the-jobu201d training + Regulates water level of systems and equipment + Assists skilled workers in performing major repairs + Oiling motors, changing belts and filters, painting and cleaning boilers, special events work + Performs preventative maintenance tasks + Properly and safely operates equipment used in daily tasks under guidance Position-Specific Details: Location:1901 Perdido St. New Orleans LA 70112 Hours of Operation: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday Appointment Type: Probationary Appointment Compensation: Starting rate of pay is $16.06 per hour, may be increased based on applicantsu2019 qualifications.
