You will contribute to projects across ECG’s four divisions: Health System Performance, Medical Group Optimization, Payer Strategy & Contracting, and Strategy & Enterprise Growth, with an emphasis on payer strategy, contracting, and reimbursement analysis.Senior analysts own analytical components of projects, supporting structured problem-solving, and increasingly engaging with clients. Consultants independently manage analytical work streams, contribute to strategic problem‑solving, and engage directly with client stakeholders while providing guidance to analysts and senior analysts.Senior consultants lead complex analytical and strategic components, shape client-ready recommendations, oversee the work of junior team members, and contribute to client relationship development and project direction.We are currently hiring a senior analyst, consultant, or senior consultant to join our Healthcare Consulting Pool with previous work experience supporting payer strategy contracting and reimbursement engagements. Experience includes:Analyzing and modeling payer and provider contracts to support negotiations.Developing and evolving existing capabilities to create contract templates using SQL.Researching and understanding Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payment methodologies and industry developments; progressing in knowledge of healthcare payment methodologies and contract modeling.Your Responsibilities May IncludeAnalytical and Strategic ExcellenceConduct routine-to-advanced analyses, financial models, and operational or reimbursement assessments with accuracy and strong data validation.Analyze and model payer and provider contracts to support negotiations and strategic decision-making.Develop, enhance, and maintain analytical models, tools, dashboards, and contract templates.Translate analytical outputs into clear visuals, summaries, and insights that support strategic recommendations.At more senior levels, lead complex analyses, design analytical frameworks, and ensure analytical rigor across project teams. Problem-Solving and Critical ThinkingRefine problem statements, clarify analytical questions, and help define structured analytical approaches.Apply appropriate analytic techniques and scenario analysis to evaluate assumptions, risks, and alternatives.Identify data limitations, root causes, and key drivers of performance.Contribute to or shape logical, evidence-based recommendations aligned with client objectives and context. Project Management and Work Stream LeadershipManage assigned tasks or work streams, including planning, progress tracking, dependencies, and early risk escalation.Coordinate proactively with team members and project leaders to resolve scheduling, resource, or analytical challenges.At more senior levels, own major work streams, guide structured problem-solving, and provide oversight across multiple contributors.Model effective project management discipline and support consistent delivery munication and Deliverable DevelopmentDraft clear, well-structured Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and written deliverables that require minimal revision.Translate complex analyses into concise, compelling narratives for internal and client audiences.Present components of analyses to internal teams and contribute to client meetings.At more senior levels, confidently present complex findings and recommendations directly to client executives. Client Interaction and Relationship SupportEngage with client stakeholders to gather data, validate assumptions, and clarify requirements.Demonstrate professionalism, preparedness, and credibility in all client interactions.Build trust through reliability, clarity, and follow-through. At more senior levels, serve as a primary point of contact for defined work stream areas and support client relationship dustry and Strategic AwarenessConduct research on healthcare trends, payer dynamics, reimbursement methodologies, regulatory developments, and market conditions.Ensure analyses reflect client objectives, industry context, and broader strategic implications.Identify risks, emerging opportunities, and key assumptions within the scope of work.Team Contribution and Developing OthersContribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.Provide guidance, feedback, and informal mentorship to analysts and senior analysts.At more senior levels, oversee work quality, provide structured coaching, and share best practices across teams.Seek out and act on feedback to continuously improve performance and capabilities. QualificationsExperience in payer strategy and contract modelingProven experience supporting or leading payer contract negotiationsStrong expertise in contract modeling, reimbursement methodologies, and financial impact analysisExperience working with large-scale health systems and managing high-value revenue contractsUnderstanding of payer reimbursement structures, including value-based care and evolving payment modelSenior AnalystBachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, finance, economics, analytics, public health, engineering, or a related fieldTypically, 1-3 years of analytical, consulting, healthcare operations, or related experience or completion of a relevant master’s degreeDemonstrated ability to independently conduct intermediate-level analyses with limited supervisionStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Foundational understanding of healthcare reimbursement, payer dynamics, and industry stakeholdersConsultantMaster’s degree preferred (business, healthcare administration, public health, analytics, economics, engineering, or related field)Typically, 2+ years of professional experience in consulting, healthcare operations, analytics, or related fields (additional experience required if no advanced degree)Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; ability to independently conduct intermediate-level analyses and manage multiple prioritiesSenior ConsultantMaster’s degree in business or a health-related field preferredTypically, 3+ years of experience in healthcare consulting, operations, or analytics (additional experience required without a master’s)Proven ability to lead complex analyses, present findings to senior audiences, and mentor junior team membersExcellent interpersonal skills, strong judgment, and ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneouslyJob LocationsAtlanta, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Diego, or Washington, DCHybrid work schedule, with a minimum of two days per week in office when not traveling for a client engagementScheduleFull time/exemptWhat You Can Expect of UsTo reward our driven, innovative, and passionate employees, we’ve built a company culture that’s centered on performance. It represents a good faith estimate of the range that ECG reasonably expects to pay at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, special skills, and market changes. This job is eligible to participate in ECG’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects ECG’s pay-for-performance philosophy.
