Discover endless opportunities to grow and make your mark at Hines.As the Commerical Applications Director at Hines, you will be primarily focused on leading and supporting Technology initiatives, either supported and developed internally or externally. This role will assist with requirements analysis, process documentation and user acceptance testing while working with internal Hines IT or external vendor technology teams and firm-wide business users. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Understand critical business functions and work with business personnel to understand pain pointsLead and support discovery meetings with cross-functional stakeholders to share ideas and findingsDocument results of discovery and requirements analysisCreate opportunities for economies of scaleIdentify business process optimization and efficienciesProvide recommendations to Supervisor(s) on proper course of action for a given process using discovery findings as supportWork with Supervisor(s) to determine what tools are best suited to produce solutions for the business needEvaluate existing technology solutions and support growth in tech stack offered and supported by BTGWhere appropriate, use tools from the Hines tech stack to produce solutions.Collaborate with Supervisor(s) on project management effortsSupport development of project plans by using optimal methodologyUpdate project plans and monitor project statusesUndertake appropriate actions to minimize risks and failuresAssist in developing and implementing solutions, including user acceptance testingDevelop and review training material of deployed tools to enable business users to be self-sufficientSupport product owners for implemented tools, systems, or processesCoordinate with stakeholders and Supervisor(s) to construct operational plan, scalable operating procedures and establish monitoring strategyAssist with change management to properly offboard to appropriate process ownersMaintain and expand knowledge of current Hines business technology initiatives to map business needs to those solutionsConduct external research of real estate industry best practices (where applicable) and determine if Hines’ requirements are in line with the market. Make recommendations where appropriateMinimum Requirements include:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution is strongly preferred; Masters in Business Administration is a plusFive or more years of experience in event coordination/event administrative support, customer service, hospitality, or travel industry. Tech office environment preferredTen or more years of experience assisting with implementing new technologies, including software testing and trainingFive or more years in the Commercial Real Estate IndustryFive or more years of experience with CMMS tools and other property technology. PRISM experience preferredStrong ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical usersAbility to execute change management while collaborating with key stakeholders across the firmAbility to create a project plan and manage it. Agile experience desiredKnowledge of the following technology products/platforms: Jira, Microsoft, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Excel/Power Query, and flow chart software (Miro or similar); eagerness to learn new business technology tools to utilize as solutions or collaborate with IT to developAbility to create technical writeups, summaries and reports using proper format, punctuation, grammar, diction, and styleWorking knowledge of the real estate industry and real estate technologyAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a professional, courteous mannerUnwavering commitment to integrity, the firm’s guiding principles and our leadership principlesPMP Certification preferredCompensation: New York: $190,000 - $211,000 base salary; Houston: Based on experienceAt Hines, we strive for excellence as a leading global real estate investment manager, driven by our by our belief that real estate is fundamentally about people.
