We are a subsidiary of Nikkiso Company Ltd, a leading industrial manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, with over $1.5 B in annual revenue, 8000 + employees worldwide, and publicly traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.We are looking for an experienced Electrical Control Technician to evaluate and maintain electrical systems in equipment which are predominantly portable. The electrical technician does not design electrical systems but will identify potential problems in design.To be successful as an electrical technician you should be able to read electrical system design plans/schematics and recommend improvements as well as calibrate instruments and diagnose faulty equipment.Evaluating testing and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring equipment appliances and apparatus.Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment appliances and apparatus.Constructing and fabricating parts using hand tools and specifications.Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints diagrams and schematics.Advising management on continued use of unsuitable equipment appliances and apparatus.Ordering of electrical supplies and equipment.Testing components prior to final installation.Performing functional test of completed equipment.Documenting functional testAt least 3-5 years' experience as an electrical technician.Excellent problem-solving skills.Good communication skills.Experience operating hand and power tools soldering and fault-testing equipment.Physical DemandsIn order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. may be necessary.Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include week days, weekends, nights and/or holidays.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely utilizes the operation of material handling equipment and various tools and machinery.Environmental Safety RequirementsNew Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety AwarenessAll safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS ManagerJob specific training modules deemed necessary by employee’s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basisEmployees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPE’s include, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Failure to comply with safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.The knowledge, skills and abilities listed above are typically acquired through the levels of education and experience listed.
