We are a full-service electrical contractor offering commercial, industrial, residential, voice/data cabling, traffic signalization, and underground installations. We have extensive experience in both commercial and industrial electrical contracting, as well as installation and support for residential homes and buildings.Job Title: Safety RepresentativeReports to: Safety DirectorLocation: Des Moines, IAFLSA Status: Full-Time / Hourly Non-ExemptSince 1946 Baker Electric has served the electrical needs of Des Moines and Central Iowa. The Safety Representative will partner with the Safety Director to be a point-of-contact on the job site and will enforce company safety policies, work procedures and all initiatives to promote a culture of safety first. This job requires a high energy level with a focus towards administration, compliance, analysis, and customer service. Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesComply with all federal, state, and local safety and health guidelines and requirements, as well as site-specific safety provisionsMaintain knowledge and participates in all site-specific safety training or safety awareness eventsMonitor compliance of safety practices throughout the worksiteIntervene in unsafe activities or operations and take action to correct unsafe conditions, performance or actions by reporting issues to Safety Director of Safety CoordinatorRespond to all safety incidents, administering First Aid as needed, or coordinating emergency response planCooperate with and assist Safety Director in investigating and preparing accident reports as directedCarry out safety corrective actions as assigned by Safety Director Perform routine onsite activities as required by Baker Electric and site partners (i.e., assignment of safety equipment, gather required medical documentation, etc.)Assist with walk-through audits on safety practices and site facility inspectionsEscalate critical and/or sensitive issues to HRM or Executive Leaders with recommendation for resolution.Other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS.
