Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Monterey Park, California. In this role, you will manage various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing tasks. This is a long-term contract position offering stability and growth opportunities within the import/export industry. Responsibilities: u2022 Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently. u2022 Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. u2022 Assist with daily invoice processing, posting, and tracking to maintain financial records. u2022 Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and credit card applications. u2022 Collaborate with team members to maintain a seamless workflow within the accounting department. u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations in all financial processes. u2022 Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting operations. u2022 Provide clerical support as needed, contributing to various administrative tasks within the department. u2022 Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for internal and external audits. u2022 Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across all accounting systems. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and account reconciliation. u2022 Proficiency in using accounting software and tools, with familiarity in AS400 or similar systems preferred. u2022 Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records. u2022 Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. u2022 Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and management. u2022 Experience in the import/export industry is a plus. u2022 Commitment to meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks efficiently.
