Technical Writer

Cognizant is seeking a Technical Writer for a full-time opportunity in Milpitas, CA. The Technical Writer will lead the charge in using AI-powered tools to develop content for cutting-edge networking products. As a senior technical writer, you will leverage your expertise to make complex product concepts, workflows, and tasks easily comprehensible and appealing to diverse audiences. Key Responsibilities: u00b7 Use in-house AI tools to make complex product concepts, workflows, and tasks easily comprehensible and appealing to diverse audiences u2013 from end users to network administrators to developers. - Writing experience to document external facing features for external customers u00b7Drive a unified content strategy. Establish standardized release processes, content development, best practices, and delivery and feedback mechanisms in the team. u00b7 Serve as the voice of the user, using AI-driven content analytics to provide valuable feedback to engineering, product management, and technical marketing teams. u00b7 Identify the significantly complex information needs of target audiences, develop appropriate content plans, and manage the execution of those plans. u00b7 Perform resource workload assessment and balancing across projects. u00b7 Create high-quality technical content for complex product and solution deployment needs. u00b7 Take on special projects/stretch assignments outside the scope of regular tasks. u00b7 Contribute actively to integrating the latest Gen AI use cases in existing and new content workflows. u00b7 Demonstrate proven ability in team building and the mentoring of junior writers. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this role, candidates must have 7+ years of experience in technical writing and demonstrate the following essential qualifications: u00b7 Exceptional writing skills and an in-depth understanding of technical writing principles. u00b7 Solid understanding of Generative AI principles and their practical application in prompt engineering, model evaluation, and ethical considerations for content creation. u00b7 Strong technical aptitude to comprehend and simplify complex networking technologies, with a proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new advancements. Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidates will also possess these highly desirable skills and experiences: u00b7 Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, leveraging data and AI-driven insights to proactively address content gaps. u00b7 Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills, with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster innovation. u00b7 Proficiency in content structures, CMS, source management, and governance to implement effective content strategies. u00b7 Familiarity with structured authoring environments (e.g., DITA, XML). The salary range for this role is between $99,000 and $114,000 will be determined by the skills and experience level of the candidate.
