PRIMARY PURPOSE Lead the Center Store Department Team and assist the Assistant Store Manager-Center Store and Customer Service in maintaining department operations to meet financial and sales goals. Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Hannaford Strategy. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES u2022 Lead the Center Store Department operations in accordance with established department standard practices, in the absence of the Assistant Store Manager-Center Store and Customer Service. u2022 Lead excellent customer service and goodwill by role modeling and providing high standards in customer service and sales building. u2022 Aid in growing sales through effective merchandising strategies. u2022 Support that department conditions involving appearance, quality, variety, safety, sanitation, and food safety are consistently maintained at the highest level. u2022 Maintain accurate records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory. u2022 Utilize company tools such as: financial reports, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems. u2022 Assist in creating and maintaining effective work schedules to meet production and customer service standards as well as associates' personal needs. u2022 Use good judgment in the delegation, assignment, and follow up required for the efficient performance of the department. u2022 Provide real time coaching, feedback, and assist with the performance management process. u2022 Assist in training and developing associates to meet the department needs. u2022 Maintain solid communication in the department and with store management. u2022 Observe and follow all company policies and established standard practices. u2022 Perform all other duties and projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS u2022 A high school graduate or equivalent preferred. u2022 Retail center store experience preferred. u2022 Ability to lead and direct others. u2022 Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred. u2022 Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills. u2022 Effective interpersonal and organizational skills. u2022 Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. u2022 Strong problem solving skills. u2022 Must meet minimum age requirements. u2022 Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a
