Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting and a knack for improving processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to deliver accurate and timely financial results. u2022 Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports. u2022 Manage areas such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet accuracy. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance accounting procedures, controls, and documentation. u2022 Coordinate with external auditors to ensure audit readiness and compliance. u2022 Provide support for system-related projects, including enhancements and optimizations. u2022 Offer guidance and mentorship to senior accountants and accounting staff as necessary. Requirements u2022 Extensive experience in corporate accounting, particularly in complex, multi-entity environments. u2022 Background in private equityu2013backed or highly scaled organizations is a plus. u2022 Proficiency with accounting software and tools, with specific experience in . u2022 Strong knowledge of US accounting principles and internal controls. u2022 Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. u2022 A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience. u2022 Expertise in key areas such as month-end close, general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
