This job was posted by : For moreinformation, please see: Title: Truck Driver FLSA status: Non-ExemptDepartment: Ready Mix Reports to: Plant ManagerSalary Level: Commensurate upon experience Location: Wichita, KSPOSITION SUMMARYSeeking dedicated people with desire to learn and build a career whileexceeding the highest quality of safetystandards. This position is response for operating a commercial motorvehicle to transport and deliver ready mixconcrete. Will be required to operate different aspects of thevehicle's systems to alter, mix or unload as required.May require use of automated routing equipment. Requires commercialdrivers' license, Class B minimum.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS? Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting ready mixconcrete.? Check vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergencyequipment is in good operating order.? Maintain logs of operating hours and delivery of product, followingapplicable state and federal regulations.? Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect paymentfor services when required.? Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete andaccurate.? Maneuver vehicle into loading or unloading positions, followingsignals from loading crew and checking thatvehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.? Drive vehicle safely, including vehicles with high center of gravity,to transport and deliver product, followingapplicable state and federal regulations.? Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage tothe vehicles.? Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifyinginstructions and routes.? Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, andtelephones, to exchange necessaryinformation with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.? Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as adding oil, fuel, andradiator fluid, or performing minorrepairs.? Climb ladders or stairs to inspect loads, ensuring that the product isaccurate and vehicle is clean.? Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team on sometrips.? Effectively and professionally communicate with customers to ensureproper delivery of product.? Climb in and out of vehicle cab frequently throughout day.? Perform other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications:? Valid Class A or B CDL required.? Ready Mix truck driving experience preferred.? High school education or GED equivalent.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those thatmust be met by an employee to successfullyperform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include closevision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision anddepth perception.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inoutside weather conditions and is exposedto airborne particles.
