The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking a qualified candidate with well-rounded general maintenance experience to join our Building Maintenance and Services team as an Airport Facilities Technician II, III. Only individuals who are currently employed with the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority are eligible for consideration. This is an hourly and overtime eligible position. Applicants must be available to work all shifts (day, swing, and graveyard) 7 days a week - including holidays. To be considered for this position, applicants must indicate they are available for day, swing, and night shifts (all three), and must check the appropriate boxes under availability on the RTAA online application. Shift assignments are generally determined by seniority using a Shift Bid System. Experience in Commercial Plumbing repair and maintenance is preferred. Examples of Duties: Repairs and replaces plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, faucets and pipes, clear obstructions from lines. Maintains and repairs RTAA facilities, equipment, and buildings by performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, and mechanical repair work in order to meet the goals and objectives of RTAA preventive maintenance program(s) Installs, adjusts, repairs, and inspects heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment including forced air furnaces, boilers, water pumps, chillers, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, air filters, compressors, cooling towers and heat exchangers, checks and repairs alarm doors, automatic doors, baggage belts, jet bridges, elevators, escalators. Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklist on building equipment maintenance repairs and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Performs carpentry work including the construction, installation, remodel and repair of cabinets, partitions, sheetrock, walls, stucco, windows, locks, doors, roofs, and foundations; participates in remodeling of facilities; installs, maintains, and repairs a variety of floor coverings such as carpeting, tile and wood. Operates, maintains, and repairs a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, air compressors, paint sprayers, sewer augers and various hand tools required for carpentry, plumbing and maintenance work. Reads and interprets sketches, diagrams, and blueprints. Repairs and maintains electrical lighting systems and fixtures. (Must have a general knowledge of a CMMS system in reference to WO's and PM's) Performs heavy manual labor. Participates in snow removal by keeping the landside roads, parking areas, ramps and walkways clear using snowplows, sweepers, blowers, and hand shovels. Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: This job requires physical stamina and agility, including: Routine lifting of 25 lbs. (up to 75 lbs. occasionally). Work in all weather conditions and environments. Operation in confined spaces and at heights. Use of PPE and adherence to strict safety protocols. Entry Salary: $22.59 - $29.30 per hour, with opportunity for additional merit-based increases to a range maximum of $35.84 per hour. In addition, employees working non-day shifts receive an additional $2.40 per hour of shift differential pay. Initial salary placement is based upon experience and qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: Facilities Technician II - Performs duties under general supervision and is distinguished from the Facilities Technician I by partially autonomous performance of a full-range of duties. Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent certificate. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be substituted on a year for year basis. Required Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing the full range of semi-skilled facilities maintenance or construction work, exceeding or equivalent to Facilities Technician II. Required Licensing: A valid Driver's License is required at the time of application. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Facilities Technician III - Performs duties under general supervision and is distinguished from the Facilities Technician II by the independent performance of a full-range of duties, exercising high levels of judgement and initiative. Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent certificate. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be substituted on a year for year basis. Required Experience: Five (5) years of experience performing the full range of skilled facilities maintenance or construction work, exceeding or equivalent to Facilities Technician II. Required Licensing: A valid Driver's License is required at the time of application. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Education: Associates degree, technical, or vocational training are preferred.
