Position Summary The Sonographer II performs advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures across assigned specialties, providing high-quality imaging and clinical information to physicians for interpretation. This role demonstrates clinical expertise, critical thinking, and strong patient care skills while supporting Novant Healthu2019s commitment to remarkable patient experiences. Remarkable Care u2013 Make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families Team Collaboration u2013 Work alongside highly skilled physicians, clinicians, and imaging professionals Professional Growth u2013 Opportunities for advanced certifications, cross-training, and career advancement Innovation & Technology u2013 Utilize leading-edge ultrasound equipment and imaging practices Diversity & Inclusion u2013 Be part of an organization that values and celebrates differences What You'll Do What Weu2019re Looking For: + ARRT (S) or ARDMS certification (within 6 months of hire) + Prior acute care experience preferred + Strong communication skills and attention to detail Key Responsibilities u2022 Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams following physician orders and departmental protocols u2022 Utilize sound clinical judgment to capture optimal images for accurate interpretation u2022 Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring comfort and safety u2022 Document patient information accurately and maintain thorough imaging records u2022 Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams u2022 Maintain knowledge of emerging ultrasound technologies and best practices u2022 Assist with workflow efficiency and support quality improvement initiatives u2022 Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards What We're Looking For + Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Program or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required. + Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in vascular sonography, required. + Licensure/Certification: + Certified and registered by ARRT in Vascular Sonography or certified and registered by ARDMS in Vascular Technology or certified and registered by CCI in Vascular Specialist RT(S)(VS), or RDMS,RT(VS) or RDMS,RVT,VT, or RT(S)(RVS), RDMS,(RVS), required. + Additional Skills/Requirements (required): + Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing + Possess good communication skills + Capability to function alone and work independently in diagnostic rooms + Has working knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment + Able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served + Has ability to interpret information to identify each patientu2019s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs + Basic computer skills Why Choose Novant Health?
