Experience must have been acquired subsequent to the completion of basic training. + Please note: deputies with corrections experience only,u00a0federal police officers in Policeu00a0Series 0083, and military policeu00a0do not qualify u00a0 + No more than a six-year break from the applicant's lastu00a0peace officer employment prior to the date of the application u00a0 + Attestation that the applicant is leaving/has left their previous law enforcement employer(s) in good standing + Education:u00a0 Applicants must be a United States High School Graduate, or have passed a G.E.D. or the California High School Proficiency Examination, or have attained a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree from an accredited college or university in accordance with (Government Code 1031(e)). + A foreign college or university degree may be evaluated for equivalency by a credential evaluation service holding membership in the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE), and the evaluation equivalency must be provided at the time of application. + Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the time of appointment. + Driveru2019s License: Applicants must possess and maintain a valid driver license to operate an automobile at the time of application and throughout the selection process. Those that do not pass may request another opportunity to re-take the test no sooner than one (1) month from their previous attempt. Eligible List / Certification Rule Candidates that pass the Oral Interview will have their names added to the eligible list. Candidate names will remain on the list for a maximum period of 12 months. The Police Department has the option to hire any candidate on the eligible list (u201cRule of Listu201d).
