Job Description

The Carnegie Mellon University Store is searching for a Frontline Retail Sales Consultant to join the team You will contribute to the department by providing support in the university store which sells CMU merchandise, computers, art supplies, office products and gifts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and diverse work environment. Core responsibilities include: + Greeting customers and assisting them in finding merchandise. + Acting as brand ambassador to provide assistance and information to visitors and community members. + Managing transactions at the point-of-sale. + Monitoring inventory levels and restocking the sales floor. + Providing leadership to the student employees. + Other duties as assigned. You should demonstrate: + Excellent oral and written communication skills + Ability to stand for long periods of time + Ability to lift - up to 50 lbs + Ability to work occasional weekend hours Qualifications: + Minimum education High School or GED + 1-3 years retail customer service preferred + A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
