The Technician will also develop and implement customized pilot study designs to achieve targeted water treatment objectives and diagnose and resolve customer treatment challenges through process, equipment, and hydraulic design analysis and troubleshooting.Location: Brooklyn Park, MNTravel: 50-80% all across the US, Puerto Rico, and CanadaCompensation: $60,000-65,000/yearReview and understand pilot plan and protocol in preparation for upcoming pilot tests. Prepare pilot water treatment equipment according to plan, protocol, and BOM for pilot operation shipmentOperate and perform pilot testing: jar testing, adjustment of chemical feeds, meters and values, instruction of engineer and operator, etc. (Uses Hach DR 900 Series test kit for iron, manganese, chlorine, and other contaminant analysis.)Set up/tear down of equipment involving plumbingTake water samples for analysisSubmit field and test reports that are timely, concise, and accurate Assist internal and external customers in solving field problemsIndependently telephone and follow-up on customer service issues as requested or assigned Actively participate in company committees and initiatives (safety, design guides, R&D, etc.) as assigned Performance of other technical duties as assigned High school diploma with at least 2 years post-secondary coursework in science, mechanics, and electronics required2-3 years’ experience working with mechanical equipment, tools, controls, plumbing, piping or, related equipmentExperience as a start-up technician in a related field, taking on progressively more responsibility; or equivalent exposure preferredBasic knowledge of plumbing, piping, controls, metering and instrumentation Knowledge of water chemistry is helpful Ability to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to travel 50-80% of the time across the US, Puerto Rico, and CanadaEEO/AA/F/M/Vet/Disabled
