This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership in study execution, and the ability to provide strategic guidance to clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in system modeling, simulation, and grid performance analysis across utility, industrial, and renewable energy systems, and specifically BESS.Lead and perform advanced power system studies including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, dynamic modeling, harmonics, and EMT simulationsServe as a technical authority for system studies, providing guidance and oversight to junior engineers and project teamsDevelop, validate, and maintain complex power system models for transmission and distribution networksLead interconnection studies for generation projects (renewables, storage, and conventional generation)Perform and review arc flash studies and develop mitigation strategies in accordance with NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584Oversee protection coordination studies and evaluate system protection schemesProvide technical input for system planning, expansion studies, and reliability assessmentsInterface with clients, utilities, and regulatory bodies to present study results and recommendationsReview and approve technical reports and deliverablesSupport business development efforts including proposals and cost estimatesBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)8-15+ years of experience in power system studies or related rolesExpertise in tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM, or PowerWorldStrong knowledge of transmission and/or distribution systemsExperience with interconnection processes and grid codes (NERC, FERC, ISO/RTO)Deep understanding of protective relaying and system dynamicsProven leadership and mentoring experienceStrong communication and client-facing skillsActs as a senior technical advisor on complex engineering challengesMentors and develops junior engineersInfluences technical standards and best practicesSupports client relationships and project successAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
