Summer Day Camp Counselor

Overview Seeking Seasonal Summer Day Camp Counselors to join our Canandaigua Corps Our Seasonal opportunities offer Sick time SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION: Oversee and supervise a group of children in the Summer Day Camp Recreation Program while maintaining health and safety standards. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. + Lead structured and unstructured activities for children participating in the Summer Day Camp Program + Supervise a group of 8u201312 children during the day to coordinate recreation activities that encourage teamwork and character building opportunities + Maintain health and safety of children according to camp manual at all times + Report any problems and concerns to the Program Director as needed + Report and discipline concerns to the Program Director as needed + Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled + Encourage each child to participate in constructive recreation and leisure activities + Assist children to develop an awareness of the Canandaigua community and leisure options in the community + Other duties as assigned by the Program Director Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
