This role is responsible for transforming HR into a high-impact, strategic partner that drives organizational effectiveness, workforce excellence, and cultural alignment with TJJDand#8217;s mission and the Texas Model.The HR Director will lead a high-performing team and elevate the function from operational excellence to strategic influence, embedding TJJD core competencies into all aspects of human capital management. This position requires a dynamic leader who can foster innovation, strengthen accountability, and position HR as a trusted advisor across the agency.Work involves establishing and executing a forward-looking HR strategy aligned with agency priorities; modernizing policies and practices; strengthening workforce capability; and developing systems that support recruitment, retention, engagement, and performance.Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Occasional overnight travel required. Ten (10) years of full-time wage-earning experience in program administration relating to human resources.
