Litigation Legal Assistant

Description We are looking for a skilled Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in San Diego, California. In this role, you will provide essential support for approximately 12u201320 active cases, primarily focused on land use and labor disputes. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to trial preparation and legal operations in a hybrid work environment. This role partners closely with managing partner on case management, client communication, and administrative support throughout all phases of litigation. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage case calendars and ensure compliance with California State Court rules, including e-filing and scheduling. u2022 Assist with trial preparation by organizing trial binders, filing motions and pleadings, and performing document management tasks such as Bates stamping. u2022 Provide support for attorneys by tracking time, prioritizing daily tasks, and maintaining visibility of upcoming deadlines. u2022 Serve as a resource for technology-related tasks to ensure smooth workflow operations. u2022 Collaborate with attorneys to manage multiple priorities and adjust to shifting deadlines as needed. u2022 Perform document formatting, proofreading, and other administrative tasks to support litigation processes. u2022 Maintain organized records of case files and ensure accessibility of key documents. u2022 Coordinate with internal and external parties for scheduling and case-related communications. u2022 Utilize legal software, such as Clio, to manage case information and streamline processes. u2022 Ensure all filings and documentation meet court and compliance standards. Requirements u2022 At least 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with minimal need for training. u2022 Proficiency in calendaring, e-filing, and adhering to California State Court rules. u2022 Strong background in trial preparation, including creating trial binders and managing documentation. u2022 Familiarity with legal software, particularly Clio, is preferred. u2022 Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced legal environment. u2022 Knowledge of civil litigation processes and court filings. u2022 Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. u2022 Paralegal experience is a plus, though not required.
