3GPP System Engineer

Key Responsibilities- Study and resolve technology standardization problems related to 5G and 6G, with an emphasis on understanding of physical layer and RF aspects. Expertise on end-to-end system design and standardization, RAN architecture and protocol aspects is a plus.- Actively participate in 3GPP meetings, especially 3GPP RAN plenary,present proposals, build consensus, and defend technical positions.- Actively participate in other industry groups related to cellular communication and similarly drive Qualcomm positions on those- Proactivelypromote Qualcomm technologieswithin standards bodies.- Collaborate closely withresearch, product, and implementation teamsinside Qualcomm.- Track ongoing and future 3GPP releases and align system architecture with Qualcomm product strategy.Required Skills and Experience:- Strong expertise in3GPP system architecture, especially5G RAN- Solid understanding of5G physical layer and 6G research directions- Proven experience inwireless system design.- Prior participation in3GPP working groups,preferably RAN working groups- Ability to work across companies and organizations to achieve consensus in standards.- 5+ years of relevant Industry Experience```{=html}```- Familiarity with multiple 3GPP releases and evolution from LTE to 6G- Willingness totravel frequentlyfor standards meetings (often weeklong)Global travel several times per year for standards organization forums.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.Global travel several times per year for standards organization forums.Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
