This role is responsible for supporting and leading the culinary team, upholding Perseidu2019s standards for quality, consistency, and professionalism, and ensuring a seamless dining experience for every guest. The ideal Sous Chef demonstrates strong leadership, clear communication, and sound judgment, with a deep understanding of kitchen operations in a hotel restaurant environment. This position plays a meaningful role in reinforcing company culture, mentoring team members, managing resources responsibly, and collaborating across departments to achieve operational and financial goals. Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision. Key Responsibilities: u2022 Support the Executive Chef in all aspects of culinary leadership and daily operations u2022 Assume operational leadership of the kitchen in the Executive Chefu2019s absence u2022 Provide direct supervision, training, coaching, and mentorship to the culinary team u2022 Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, presentation, and timing u2022 Monitor food production, ordering, inventory, waste, and cost control to support financial performance u2022 Assist in menu development and execution in alignment with Perseidu2019s culinary vision and brand standards u2022 Coordinate and execute special events, holidays, and catered functions u2022 Collaborate with hotel leadership and other departments to ensure smooth service and communication u2022 Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards u2022 Participate in scheduling, payroll oversight, performance evaluations, and hiring efforts u2022 Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive kitchen culture focused on teamwork and accountability Qualifications: Experience and Qualifications: u2022 A genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations u2022 High School diploma or GED required; culinary degree strongly preferred u2022 Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary experience, including supervisory or leadership roles u2022 Previous experience in a hotel or highu2011volume, qualityu2011driven restaurant environment preferred u2022 Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards u2022 Experience with inventory controls, food cost management, and waste reduction u2022 Proven ability to lead, train, and develop a diverse culinary team u2022 Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills u2022 Strong organizational, timeu2011management, and problemu2011solving skills u2022 Ability to thrive in a fastu2011paced environment while maintaining attention to detail u2022 Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays We welcome you: Research shows that individuals tend to apply to jobs only if they meet all the listed job qualifications.
