World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations,seeks aAssociate Specialist, Climate Communications.Reporting to the Senior Director, Climate Communications, the Associate Specialist will help increase the visibility of WWF’s climate work, support senior leadership communications, and develop compelling content that highlights the critical connections between climate change, nature, wildlife, and communities. This role provides essential execution and coordination capacity for the climate program and works closely with colleagues across marketing and communications, policy, corporate engagement, and other WWF goal teams.This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career communicator who enjoys social media to develop foundational skills, gain hands-on experience, and build a professional path in climate and nature communications.Salary Range: $53,100 - $66,400Please note: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will berequiredto verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.Createsandmaintainscommunications materials includinga communications calendar,messagingand talking points,afacts library,andpresentation templates.Researchesandsynthesizestechnical information into clearstoriesthat describethe intersection between conservation and climate changeandothercross‑programissues.SupportsWWF‑US climate leadershipthroughsecuring speaking opportunities,managing eventlogistics,and writingbriefingnotes.Managesselectprogram andstaffsocial mediaaccountsthroughdevelopingwritten,videoand creativecontent, scheduling posts, andmeasuring engagement.Assistsin coordinating how the WWF-US officeparticipatesin Climate Weeks andother high profile climatefora.Performs other duties as assigned.Key CompetenciesPersuasive WritingThe role requires crafting compelling narratives that motivate public and stakeholder engagement on climate issues across digital and owned channels.Strategic Communications ThinkingThis position supports broader campaign and organizational goals, requiring the ability to align content and tactics with defined objectives and audiences.Social Media & Digital Content DevelopmentA significant portion of engagement happens on digital platforms; the role must create, adapt, and optimize content for social media environments.Bachelor's degree and 2 to 4yearsprofessional experience in communications,marketing, media relations, social media management, and/or comparable relevant experience.Knowledge of conservation, climatechangeand/or international development issues.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to learn new skills and developexpertisewhile keeping up with administrative and logistical tasks upon which the team relies.Ability to set priorities, manage a multitude of details simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively in a matrixed team environment. Proficiencywith Microsoft office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)required.Proficiencywith Adobe Creative Suite, and other creative software tools (Canva, WordPress) preferred.Excellent interpersonal skillsrequired-- knowing when to use courtesy,tactand/or diplomacy to effectively communicate with all constituents.Committed to building and strengthening a culture of inclusion within and across teams.
