Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Port Washington, New York. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in reporting, compliance, and analysis. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare comprehensive accounting reports with appropriate documentation to support financial accuracy. u2022 Conduct detailed monthly account analyses to maintain precision in reporting. u2022 Examine financial data and provide summaries of the organizationu2019s financial health. u2022 Recommend strategies to enhance operational efficiency and optimize expenditures. u2022 Collaborate on financial forecasting and standards-setting processes. u2022 Contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives. u2022 Compile financial statement workpapers to facilitate audits. u2022 Ensure timely and accurate filing of state, sales, and use tax returns. u2022 Manage and support the month-end and year-end closing processes. Requirements u2022 A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management. u2022 Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and maintaining general ledger accuracy. u2022 Expertise in conducting financial statement audits and preparing supporting documentation. u2022 Strong skills in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation. u2022 Ability to analyze financial data and propose actionable insights. u2022 Familiarity with tax filing requirements, including state, sales, and use taxes. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
