Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a long-term contract opportunity designed for someone who is detail oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing general ledger activities, month-end processes, and financial reporting while collaborating closely with leadership and operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee daily general ledger operations, including journal entries and account reconciliations. u2022 Manage and execute month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. u2022 Prepare and maintain financial records in compliance with established accounting standards. u2022 Support accounting for project-based expenses and software development initiatives. u2022 Collaborate with the Controller to facilitate knowledge transfer during transitional periods. u2022 Ensure the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to support compliance requirements. u2022 Partner with leadership and operational teams to deliver financial insights and analysis. u2022 Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within accounting functions. u2022 Utilize advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Deltek software to streamline accounting processes. Requirements u2022 A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on general ledger activities and reconciliations. u2022 Strong proficiency in managing month-end close processes and journal entries. u2022 Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes. u2022 Experience with accounting software, with Deltek expertise considered a significant advantage. u2022 Solid understanding of financial compliance and internal control practices. u2022 Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate financial insights clearly. u2022 Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
