Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Description The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains and manages day-to-day maintenance operations for a corporate facility, ensuring the building, grounds, and equipment remain safe, functional, and presentable. This role assumes responsibility for completing maintenance service requests, supporting facility operations, and working closely with the Facilities Manager and other maintenance staff. Responsibilities + Manage the work order system and coordinate tasks with other maintenance staff to ensure timely and efficient completion of work. + Complete all assigned maintenance service requests promptly and to a high standard. + Maintain inventory controls to support cost-effective operations and ensure necessary supplies and parts are available. + Carry a company cell phone as required to respond to maintenance needs and communications. + Perform grounds work, including picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas, maintaining landscaping beds, and keeping outdoor areas clean and orderly. + Complete payroll timesheets accurately and submit them to the Facilities Manager in a timely manner. + Maintain a professional and courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, and fellow employees. + Apply and follow safety standards that comply with company, local, city, and federal guidelines. + Ensure all work-related activities are carried out in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner. + Follow established company policies and procedures, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook. + Perform physical tasks that may include lifting 50 to 100 pounds and working from ladders when necessary. + Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to perform tasks correctly and safely. + Write routine reports and correspondence to document work performed and communicate maintenance issues. + Communicate effectively with groups of employees or customers when explaining maintenance issues or procedures. Essential Skills + At least 2 years of related experience and/or training in the property maintenance field. + Hands-on experience in general building maintenance and commercial maintenance. + Ability to perform basic carpentry, including drywall work and painting. + Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, including work on fixtures and related components. + Basic knowledge of electrical systems, including outlets, switches, and light fixtures. + Ability to perform HVAC-related tasks; formal HVAC training preferred but not required. + Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues across multiple building systems. + Experience with groundskeeping tasks and use of equipment such as mowers and trimmers. + Ability to assemble and repair furniture as needed. + Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. + Ability to write routine reports and correspondence clearly and accurately. + Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers to explain maintenance issues and solutions. + Physical ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds on occasion and safely use ladders. + Commitment to following safety standards and regulatory guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications + HVAC training or certification is preferred but not required. + Experience in commercial HVAC environments is an advantage. + Familiarity with troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in a commercial setting. + Experience working with vendors and contractors in a facilities or maintenance context. + Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate time and work records. + Professional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with corporate employees. + Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a maintenance team. + Demonstrated ability to follow company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Towson, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
