Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and supporting month-end close activities. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and a detail-oriented mindset. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining proper documentation and compliance. u2022 Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and proper reconciliations. u2022 Perform account reconciliations to verify financial data and resolve discrepancies. u2022 Conduct bank reconciliations and address any variances promptly. u2022 Assist with audits by preparing necessary financial documentation and reports. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. u2022 Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend improvements. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. u2022 Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting tasks as needed. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounting, specifically with month-end close processes. u2022 Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and journal entry preparation. u2022 Expertise in performing account and bank reconciliations. u2022 Familiarity with accounting standards and regulatory compliance. u2022 Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting. u2022 Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and stakeholders.
