Work involves designing and implementing a comprehensive internship program that supports the workforce development goals of the agency. Establishes program structure, policies, and procedures; collaborates with universities, and recruitsand#8217; interns. Works in coordination with human resources and other program areas to implement and maintain an active internship program.Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per work week.ESSENTIAL DUTIESDevelop and implement an internship program that meets agency talent development and workforce pipeline needs.Develop program guidelines, application processes, selection criteria, syllabus, and onboarding materials.Provide resources and guidance to staff supervising interns, including training on mentorship, evaluation, and program expectations.Coordinate placements across divisions to match intern skills and academic requirements with agency needs.Establish program goals, timelines, and performance metrics to ensure effectiveness and alignment with agency prioritiesSpeak to community and professional groups to coordinate, improve, and stimulate interest in agencyand#8217;s internship program and employment opportunities to secure support for program(s)Establishes relationships with colleges, tra e schools, universities, and community organizations to develop and administer intern program. Aides in the maintenance of these relationships and contractual obligations.Actively embody and support the Texas Model by demonstrating its core values in daily tasks and interactions with others.Performs all duties in compliance with agency safety policies and procedures:Reports safety hazards and corrects hazards when pletes required documentation in the event of an accident/injury within requested time frames.Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency attendance and leave policies.Will be required to travel up to 50% of the time.Actively embody and support the Texas Model by demonstrating its core values in daily tasks and interactions with others.Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelorand#8217;s degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Communication, Psychology, Education, Public Administration, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in program coordination, development, and implementation.ORHigh School diploma or equivalent. Seven (7) years of full-time wage-earning experience program coordination, development, and implementation.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSand#183; Experience in managing an internship program in a university or agency setting.Experience and Education Substitutions:One year of appropriate experience may substitute for one year of college (30 course hours) on a year for year pleted course hours of undergraduate study may substitute for up to four years of experience on a basis of 30 course hours for one year of pleted course hours of graduate study may substitute for up to two years of experience on a basis of 12 graduate course hours for one year of experience.Experience requirements may be satisfied by the prorated part-time equivalent.Note: Any degree, diploma, high school equivalent, or course hours required to meet minimum qualifications must be from an accredited educational institution.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESand#183; Knowledge and strong experience using project management toolsand#183; Skilled in problem-solving with the ability to address project challenges proactively.and#183; Skill in effective communication with the ability to work across departments and with executive and legislative stakeholders.and#183; Skill in budget and resource management skills.and#183; Ability to meet project deadlines.and#183; Ability to travel and work in excess of 40 hours per work week.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSThe following physical demands and working conditions are representative of those encountered and/or necessary for the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
