Description Key Responsibilities: + Build, update, and maintain transmission and generation models supporting reliability, economic, and policy studies through collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholdersu2014including Transmission Owners, Generator Owners, Balancing Authorities, RTOs/PCs.u2022 Lead and support ERAG MMWG model development, data management, case preparation, and reporting along with modeling work associated with planningu2011related NERC compliance filings (MOD, TPL), ensuring adherence to OATT/Tariff and FERC/NERC requirements.u2022 Provide comprehensive technical engineering support for internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate modeling data submissions.u2022 Analyze highly complex system data, identify and mitigate modeling risks, and implement engineering solutions.u2022 Make timely decisions affecting the design, scheduling, and completion of projects that may affect multiple departments or the division. u2022 Contribute to and influence complex projects requiring coordination across multiple departments and divisions. Required Education & Experience + Bacheloru2019s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineeringu2022 Four years related energy industry experience (eight preferred) with Transmission Owners, Generator Owners, Balancing Authorities, RTOs, or Planning Coordinators.u2022 Power system modeling experience, including power flow and dynamic simulation tools such as PSSu00aeE, MUST, TARA, TSAT.u2022 Exposure to power system planning, bulk electric system operations, substation design, or protection/control engineering.u2022 Experience supporting FERC/NERC compliance evidence. Technical Skills u2022 Power system modeling; power flow, voltage, and dynamic analysis u2022 Tools: Siemens PSS/E, GE PSLF, Powertech PSA tools, Siemens MUST, TARA, VSAT, TSAT, PSCAD, Siemens MOD, MISO Model Manager u2022 Database experience (Oracle, HABITAT) u2022 Understanding of NERC & FERC regulatory requirements u2022 UNIX, Windows, Linux administration u2022 Python, Java, SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages What Success Looks Like Within one year, the successful candidate consistently delivers highu2011quality modeling outputs, integrates seamlessly with evolving processes, leads core modeling work and projects, and demonstrates growth in both technical depth and understanding of MISOu2019s strategic priorities. They collaborate effectively across teams, champion process improvements, and contribute to the organizationu2019s culture of curiosity and continuous advancement. The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $124,000-149,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience. Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met.
