Monitors and reports patient progress to health professionals. Assists Home Health patients with activities of daily living such as bathing and personal care. Helps Home Health patients with instrumental activities of daily living including meal preparation, grocery shopping, housework, laundry, and telephone use. Provides orientation and training for newly hired staff. Maintains accurate patient records and adheres to care protocols. Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Must be proficient in the English language. • Reliable transportation. • Must be able to read and write in English. • Home Care experience preferred. • Demonstrates basic computer skills. • Knowledge of regulatory requirements preferred. • Sympathetic attitude toward care of the sick. • Ability to communicate effectively in English. • Ability to follow directions and deal effectively with job demands. • Successful completion of a Home Health Aide competency evaluation. • Demonstrated knowledge of home health aide services/tasks. • Problem-solving abilities. • Positive interpersonal communication skills. • Team and customer service oriented. • Completion of a minimum of seventy-five (75) hours of documented home health aide training with at least sixteen (16) hours of supervised practical training by a qualified RN covering essential care skills and knowledge areas. Education: • High School Grad or Equiv [Required] • Technical/Vocational School [Required] Field of Study: • N/A Work Experience: • 1+ employment experience as a nurses aide in an institutional setting.
