This position will support the Division of Epilepsy, to facilitate office visits as well as Epilepsy Monitoring Unit coverage.The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant performs the following tasks in an authorized setting, such as the clinic or hospital. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Mayo Clinic also may perform the following tasks in any authorized setting:Obtaining patient historyPerforming physical examinationsPerforming outpatient consultationsOrdering and performing diagnostic and/ortherapeutic proceduresFormulating a diagnostic impressionDeveloping and implementing a treatment planMonitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventionsOffering counseling and education to meet patient needsMaking appropriate referralsPrescribing and dispensing prescription medication in accordance with FL state laws and department policiesDemonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs.Assist with ongoing departmental process improvement and policy developmentOther departmental or institutional committee assignments as needed
