Position Description Summary: The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the George Washington Cancer Center (GWCC) seek a gynecologic oncologist with experience in academic medical leadership to join the faculty as director for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology to start as early as spring 2025. The Division of Gynecologic Oncology is an expanding division within the evolving, multidisciplinary cancer service line of the GW academic medical enterprise. The GWCC brings together the resources of the University, the GW Medical Faculty Associates, and the GW University Hospital to expand current research efforts in the fight against cancer and to position our institution as the premier cancer care provider in the Washington, D.C. area. The GW Cancer Center provides outstanding cancer care, conducts groundbreaking research, and offers high-quality education, training, and community outreach programs.This non-tenure track position will be made at the rank of associate or full professor, with a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. A full benefits package is available, including professional malpractice coverage (including tail coverage), time off for CME, a Professional Expense Account, retirement benefits, etc. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: The Division Director will drive the development of a premier gynecologic oncology practice within the oncology service line, enhance the research activities, and accelerate progress toward eradicating cancer by leading the quest for NCI cancer center designation. Candidates with leadership experience in an NCI-designated cancer center are invited to apply. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, on schedule for or board certified in Gynecologic Oncology, and eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia at the time of appointment. Applicants must be at the associate professor rank or higher and have a demonstrated track record in clinical and translational sciences.
