Position:Senior Tax Manager - FundsDepartment:AccountingReporting to:Managing Director, TaxFLSA Status:ExemptLocation:Bentonville, AR; Denver, COWalton Enterprises isseekinga skilled, highlymotivatedand entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Senior Tax Manager - Funds. The ideal teammatedemonstratesadvancedexpertisein partnership taxation, alternative investments, and real estate structures while providing strategic leadership across complex tax compliance and planning activities.About the PositionThis role leadstaxcompliance, reporting, and planning efforts for the family office investment portfolio, including private equity, venture capital, hedge funds,fundof funds, and real estate partnerships. The position integrates deep technical tax knowledge with investment focused insight, supportingpass throughentity filings, tax basis tracking, and K 1 analysis across a broad range of investment vehicles. The role also contributes to tax planning and research activities for individuals, trusts, and charitable entities in support of long term financial and philanthropicobjectives.What youwill doProvide senior level tax leadership for investmentfundand real estate activities, oversee complex compliance and planning efforts, and advise internal partners on tax strategy and risk considerations.ResponsibilitiesFund Taxation & Investment SupportPerform reviews of tax research, partnership work papers, allocations, and tax filings prepared by junior staff.Identifycomplex tax issues and provide tax analyses for a variety of hedgefund, private equity, fund-of-funds, real estatepartnershipsand their affiliatesResearch,monitor, and assess downstream impact on individuals, trusts, and foundations.Develop planning ideas to negate negative outcomes for downstream investorsMonitor tax-sensitive issues such as UBTI, ECI, PFIC, and foreign reporting obligations (e.g., Forms 8865, 5471, 8938).Support the Managing Director, Tax - Funds in fund structuring discussions, reviewing allocation models, waterfall provisions, and side letters as part of due diligence for investment opportunities.Tax Research & StrategyConduct tax research on issues related to investment products and advise the investment services team on strategic tax planning.Stay current with tax law changes relevant to the real estate industry, alternative investments funds, partnerships, and high-net-worth individualsSupport the development and documentation of tax planning strategies tailored to investment entities.Collaboration & Cross-Functional SupportCoordinate with investment, legal, accounting, and philanthropic services teams to gather required data for tax filings and planning.Assistin data compilation and analysis to support tax audits and internal reporting.Participate in special projects related to new fund launches, transactions, or restructuring efforts.Who we are looking forSkills neededAdvanced partnership and real estate taxationexpertiseStrategic tax research and technical writing skillsInvestment fund compliance and advisory experienceFinancial analysis and data interpretationProficiencyin Excel and tax workpaper systemsClear communication of complex tax conceptsQualifications required for your successBachelor’s degree in Accountingor related fieldCPA certification.Master’s in Taxation, Accounting, Business Administration, or J.D. preferred.8+ years of experience in advanced partnership taxation or investment funds.Strong understanding of Subchapter K (704(b), 704(c), 734,743), pass-through entities, and fund-level allocations.Excellent research and writing skillsExperience reviewing partnership agreements, side letters, and subscription documentsPersonal attributes that support your successDemonstrates discretion, integrity, andexpertisewhile serving as a trusted advisor to principals and colleagues.Collaborates respectfully and effectively with others, contributing to a supportive, team-oriented environment.Approaches challenges with curiosity, bold thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.Maintains a strong focus on results, consistently exercising sound judgment and decision-making.Brings a visionary mindset, planning strategically for the future with imagination and insight.Committedto excellence and activelyengageswith others toaccomplishshared goals.All offers of employment are contingent on your successful completion (wherepermittedby state law) of a confidentiality agreement and background check.
