PRIMARY PURPOSE Responsible for retail store operations during the evening hours making decisions impacting store associates, merchandise quality and presentation and the level of service offered to our customers. Role model our cultural behaviors and ensure conditions involving security, safety, and food safety are consistently maintained at the highest levels. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES u2022 Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect. Provide recognition of accomplishments and offer constructive counseling when necessary. u2022 Understand the use of company tools such as; MPP, financial reports, scheduling, ordering and business information systems. u2022 Maintain effective work schedules to meet production and customer service standards as well as associates' needs. u2022 Understand the potential causes and means for resolving and limiting inventory shrink issues in the store. u2022 Train and develop grocery associates to meet the department needs. u2022 Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed as outlined. u2022 Treat all store information as strictly confidential. u2022 Ensure that proper control of all store funds and company assets are maintained. u2022 Perform all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS u2022 Strong understanding of store operations and Store Merchandising Techniques preferred. u2022 Effective interpersonal, customer service, communications, and organizational skills. u2022 Desire and ability to lead and support a team. u2022 Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. u2022 Ability to use technical information to solve problems. u2022 Ability and availability to work evening shifts. u2022 Must meet minimum age requirements (minimum of 21 years old). u2022 A high school graduate or equivalent preferred. Physical Requirements u2022 Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functions. u2022 Lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, including overhead lifting, and up to 60 lb. occasionally. Push/pull up to 40 lb. regularly. u2022 Meet established volume and fixed activity standards. u2022 Stand or walk 100% of the time. u2022 Frequent reaching, grasping and lifting individual stock items below waist level or above shoulder level. u2022 Frequent bending. u2022 Ability to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packing materials and food products. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS u2022 Foster a positive and inclusive environment to retain associates and customers. u2022 Role model outstanding friendly customer service. u2022 Responsible for Grocery Department when either the Assistant Store Manager or Grocery Manager is absent. u2022 Responsible for the overall operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager. u2022 Ensure the maintenance of the store's appearance and presentation. u2022 Supervise performance of all duties and responsibilities of all evening associates. u2022 Use good judgement in the delegation, assignment, and follow-up required for the efficient performance of the store. u2022 Ensure quality conditions of all products. u2022 Assist in attaining financial objectives. u2022 Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization. u2022 Observe and ensure compliance with company security, safety, and food safety standards. u2022 Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
