This role is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating receiving and distribution activities, and maintaining accurate inventory control to support hospital operations. Working in a fast-paced environment, the supervisor ensures timely receipt, storage, and delivery of materials while promoting operational efficiency, accountability, and high service standards across the department.A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm with no weekend or holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide oversight of daily storeroom and receiving activity for multiple FHC/ASC locations (requires local travel).Develop work schedule for Inventory Coordinators and Materials Handlers, proactively prioritizing resources and serving as backup, when needed. Assigns tasks to staff and inspects work.Supervise data entry into Material Management Information System to record requisitions, receipts, and returns. Trains other caregivers on processes and serves as an expert supply chain resource at designated sites, escalating concerns as appropriate.Verify system information and takes appropriate steps to reconcile when necessary. Researches errors to find cause and route as necessary to resolve.Conduct audit of delivery locations.Maintain and readjust established par level information to minimize shortages and maintain customer service levels.Assist with backorder, recall and product expiry management.Suggest changes to stocking procedures to improve performance of department.Supervise preparation of outgoing packages, calculates and records shipping costs as needed.Assist with the physical inventory process, including monthly inventory of biologics. Counts and verifies supplies in inventory and reports discrepancies to upper management as necessary.Engage and follows up on Purchasing Department (buyers) as necessary.Provide management with variance reports on discrepancies in supply budgets.Maintain appropriate delivery and receiving documentation including inspection of packages for damage. Resolves damaged items with supplier and reports unresolved issues to management as necessary.Demonstrate use of process improvement techniques and philosophies. Actively seeks to eliminate errors and to consistently improve service to plete staff performance reviews. Establishes department goals and organizes processes to meet stated goals. Develops training and education process for department tasks.Verify schedule vs. Kronos timekeeping records. Serves as department timekeeper as needed.Ensure adherence to all department, hospital and system policies.Ensure proper use of all equipment.Keep work area clean, neat and free of debris.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Bachelor’s degreeBasic knowledge of mathematics sufficient to add and subtract to maintain accurate logsMinimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control functions with responsibility for par levels, purchasing functions, inventory analysis, and usage trends. Offset: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 4 years of related experienceOn-the-Job Training: Six months on-the-job training required to learn specialized surgery components, inventory systems, and departmental policies and proceduresMay require appropriate Valid Driver’s License (VDL) to drive box truckPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:1 year of supervisory experienceExperience in healthcare supply chain functionPhysical Requirements:Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings.Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.Must have own transportation to travel to multiple sites.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum Annual Salary: $47,530.00Maximum Annual Salary: $72,475.00The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
