This position oversees planning, coordinating, organizing, and reviewing the work of professional management auditors and works under minimal direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.This position:and#183; Provides strategic leadership, management, guidance, and oversight of the Internal Audit program.and#183; Works with executive staff to accomplish agency goals consistent with TDIand#8217;s strategic plan.and#183; Provides advice to the Commissioner regarding matters related to TDIand#8217;s internal audit function.and#183; Reports regularly to the Commissioner regarding program activities, accomplishments, goals, strategies, performance, and issues.and#183; Develops and implements strategies to evaluate activities of the Internal Audit program; identifies needed areas of change to improve processes and operations.and#183; Conduct risk assessments of agency activities and develop agency audit plans.and#183; Develops and implements techniques and processes for auditing agency division activities.and#183; Prepares reports of findings, outlines discrepancies, recommends corrective action and advises executives of risk assessment initiatives.and#183; Oversee special investigations, internal audits, and research studies.and#183; Develop guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations and monitor compliance.and#183; Prepares and evaluates Internal Audit budget requests.and#183; Collaborates with management to ensure business continuity goals are met, including those for succession management.and#183; Develops and implements techniques for evaluating program activities and business functions, identifies opportunities for change, and implements process improvement activities.and#183; Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others; performs and oversees administrative functions, such as hiring and evaluating employees.and#183; Represents the agency at business meetings, conferences, and seminars or on boards, panels, and committees.and#183; Serves as the liaison with the State Auditorand#8217;s Office (SAO) and other audit organizations.and#183; Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications: This position requires:and#183; Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in business, public administration, management, or in a field related to the position.and#183; This position requires five years of experience as an executive in the administration of business or government or as a practicing attorney with two of the five years consisting of experience related to the duties of the position.and#183; Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
