We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team in Rochester, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinical leader with long-term care experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality resident care and supporting nursing staff development. Position SummaryThe ADON will assist the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) with the overall management of nursing operations, ensuring the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff performance. This role requires clinical expertise, leadership ability, and flexibility to meet the dynamic needs of a long-term care environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the DNS with daily management responsibilities and maintaining quality of care Coordinate and direct comprehensive planning of nursing services Meet the medical and nursing needs of all residents Conduct weekly Wound/Skin Rounds Oversee infection control practices and compliance Ensure accurate and timely completion of medical records Assist with interviewing, hiring, and orienting new nursing staff Oversee the daily staffing process and scheduling Support compliance efforts and maintain effective communication across all levels of nursing staff Provide leadership, supervision, and staff education as needed Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation Maintain flexibility to address the unpredictable needs of the facilityQualifications Current New York State RN license (Required) Minimum 3 years of experience in Long-Term Care (Required) 2 years of nursing management experience (preferred) 1 year of staff education experience (preferred) Strong leadership and supervisory skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work flexible hours
