Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintenance, motor troubleshooting, and electrical maintenance. You will be responsible for installing, adjusting, and maintaining all mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment. Responsibilities + Install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment. + Perform general mechanical functions and repairs on plant equipment, vehicles, buildings, facilities, or instruments. + Execute skills such as welding, basic fabrication, pipefitting, HVAC, electronic scale repair, pump repair, pump seal rebuild, and basic line equipment repair and rebuilding. + Utilize a PM or work order system to track all issues, ensuring clear communication with the Maintenance Supervisor. + Install new machinery and equipment. + Complete general repairs such as painting, patching walls, and security hardware. + Maintain inventory of assigned tools and related supplies. + Keep tools and machinery in good condition. + Notify supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken. + Maintain a clean work environment inside and outside the facility using good housekeeping habits. + Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience. + Maintenance technician skills. + Preventive maintenance knowledge. + Electrical expertise. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 1-2 years of conveyor belt system experience within the agriculture or food industry preferred. + Ability to lift up to 100 lbs as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work schedule is Monday to Friday, either 6-3:30 or 7-4:30, with occasional Saturday work if needed. The team of approximately 10 people works about 45 hours a week on average. The plant runs 24/6, but maintenance does not. The team enjoys a friendly and fun environment, making teamwork essential. The facility involves working around hazardous chemicals, with full protective gear provided when necessary. A uniform is provided for work, including steel-toed boots and eyewear. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $64000.00/yr.
