Assistant Professor of Economics and BusinessTo apply, please visit: Title: Assistant Professor of Economics and BusinessPosition Status: Tenure-TrackAcademic Rank: Assistant ProfessorDepartment: Economics and BusinessCampus Location: Main CampusJob SummaryThe Department of Economics and Business at Colorado College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics and Business with specialization in marketing, to begin Fall 2027.The department offers four undergraduate degrees which reflect our interdisciplinary approach to economics and business: (1) Business, Economics, and Society; (2) Economics; (3) International Political Economy; and (4) Mathematical Economics. We engage students in immersive pedagogy via field trips, community-engaged work, and intensive group projects.Responsibilities for this position entail teaching five courses annually plus advising students' senior theses, which counts as a sixth course. Faculty are also expected to maintain an active research program and engage in college service.A successful candidate will have:u2022 A PhD in Business or related fields (ABD candidates will also be considered)u2022 Excellent teaching promiseu2022 The ability to teach Consumer Marketing (and other marketing coursesu2022 Willingness and ability to teach two courses annually in the broader departmental and general education curriculum as assigned, such as Introduction to Business and Society (Principles of Financial Accounting (Society, Business, and Economics (Business Analytics (Qualitative Research Methods (First-Year Critical Inquiry Seminar (or First-Year Writing Seminar (No experience with such courses is required, only willingness to learnu2022 An active research agenda aimed at peer-reviewed publications commensurate with selective liberal arts institutions (for reference, faculty cvs are college requirements for tenure are found on pp. 16-18; the department statement on scholarship is found College is a nationally recognized, residential liberal arts and sciences college enrolling approximately 2,100 students from across the US and around the world. The College, located on a 99-acre campus in Colorado Springs, is distinguished by its immersive learning and pedagogy made possible by the Block Plan, in which professors teach, and students take, one course at a time. Each block is three and a half weeks long, allowing for unique teaching and learning strategies.
