Description The Server at Urban Pour is responsible for delivering an elevated, personalized dining experience that reflects the vibrant, local spirit of Austin and the boutique identity of Hotel Indigo Austin Downtown u2013 University. This role serves as the primary point of contact for guests in the restaurant, ensuring attentive, efficient, and engaging service while maintaining brand and service standards. Servers are expected to create memorable guest experiences through strong menu knowledge, genuine hospitality, and the ability to anticipate guest needs in a fast-paced, social dining environment. Core responsibilities include greeting guests, taking and delivering orders accurately, and providing service aligned with established standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: + Greet guests promptly with a warm, engaging, and professional demeanor + Present menus, provide detailed knowledge of food, beverage, and local offerings + Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system + Deliver food and drinks in a timely and polished manner + Anticipate guest needs and ensure satisfaction throughout the dining experience + Perform side work and station setup/closing duties as assigned + Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas and service stations + Handle guest concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary + Process payments accurately and follow cash-handling procedures EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: + Previous serving experience in a restaurant, hotel, or bar environment preferred + Strong communication and interpersonal skills + Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting + Knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails (or willingness to learn quickly) + TABC and Food Handler certifications (or ability to obtain) REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to u201cpitch-inu201d and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
