17-Apr-2026 Associate Process Engineer, Supply Chain - Ontario, CA Full time Regular Job Description As an Associate Process Engineer with the Supply Chain team you will help develop, implement, and maintain fair, reasonable, and attainable engineered labor standards across Distribution Center operations. They observe DC workflows to define optimal processes and preferred methods, then document via clear and effective SOPs. Engineers conduct time studies to measure and validate direct labor functions, analyze data, and communicate findings and process recommendations to Operations leadership. In support of incentive and accountability programs, they evaluate labor reporting and employee performance to ensure accurate and consistent standards application. Engineers educate DC Operations teams to promote understanding, alignment, and sustained adoption of labor standards. They collaborate closely with DC Operations and cross-functional partners to identify improvement opportunities, develop operational strategies, and resolve process and/or training gaps. Additionally, they assess DC capacity requirements and constraints and, when needed, provide innovative, data-driven network optimization recommendations. Approximately 50% travel is required to DCs.This role is on site, which means you would be required to work on site at the Best Buy location listed on the job posting. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.What you’ll doEngineered Labor Standards: Ensure a fair and reasonable labor standard by performing time studies and analyzing results. Summarize findings and recommendations for Engineering leadership.Educate & Coach: Train DC Operations on engineered labor standards, methods observations, providing feedback, and incentive/accountability impacts.Tools & Software: Maintain accurate DC layouts (XYZ coordinates) using AutoCAD or equivalent tool; own the upkeep of ELS flowcharts and standard data within StandardsPro (or approved alternative); conduct time studies and work samplings in UMT Plus; analyze and report results using Excel.Capacity Planning: Performs data analysis and applies engineering principles to plan, model, and balance capacity across labor, equipment, and facilities.Continuous Improvement: Observe and improve warehouse processes to increase throughput, reduce costs, and improve service levels; collaborate to develop or enhance operational policies, procedures, and systems.Reporting: Utilize reporting such as SCI, Red Prairie, and BI Dashboards to identify opportunities in direct labor performance and utilization. Work cross-functionally to improve DC Operations metrics.Minimum requirementsBachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or any Quantitive Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience1+ years of external Supply Chain engineering roles involving process improvement, layout optimization, and/or engineered labor standardsBasic knowledge of engineered labor standards and time study methods.Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills..Preferred requirementsBachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or any Quantitive Bachelor’s degree3+ years of external Supply Chain engineering roles involving process improvement, layout optimization, and/or engineered labor standards2+ years internal Best Buy, or similar Retail, Supply Chain engineering rolesWorking knowledge or expertise developing and/or maintaining engineered labor standards with extensive experience conducting time studies in a distribution environment.Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.Proficient using AutoCAD, LMS/WMS, SQL, Time study software such as UMT Plus, StandardsPro, Microsoft Office Suite.Exposure or working knowledge of warehouse automation (e.g., conveyors, AS/RS, robotics)Developing skill in managing multiple priorities and delivering results under tight deadlinesWhat’s in it for youWe’re committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
