Mechanical/Electrical Project Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities Provide oversight and/or support of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering reviews. Ensure the Basis of Design is complete and comprehensive at every milestone of specific projects over $4M. Engage with the individual project teams to ensure system selection and designs meet Yale design standards and are aligned with operational goals and capacity. Provide written comments at every design milestone and for applicable submittals. Participate actively in the selection of engineering firms who will be engaged under the Yale capital program. Perform commissioning and project turnover support tasks as required. Compile significant lessons learned to inform development of Yale design standards and operational protocols. Report to the Director of Engineering & Energy Management and collaborate with Facilities Operations. Required Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of experience as a design mechanical or electrical engineer. Experience with laboratory design or equivalent technical complexity. EIT, LEED AP, and on track towards PE licensure. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
