Job Title:Apprentice 4th Year - Journeyman LinemanWork Place Flexibility: OnsiteLegal Entity:Entergy Operations, Inc.-EOI* This position can be filled by an Apprentice 4th Year through a Journeyman Linemen based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. ** This position has a 60-minute reporting requirement: the selected candidatemust live within 60minutesof the job site. *BUSINESS UNIT:This position is a Transmission function within the Asset Management group.JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Construct, Build and Maintain Overhead Transmission Line Electric Facilities with primary voltages ranging from 69KV-500 KV including but not limited to:Driving of different sizes and types of trucksOperation of various pieces of equipment (Entergy owned and rental), including but not limited to Aerial Bucket, Cranes and Digger Derrick TrucksPerform transmission line hot sticking on energized linesRead and understand job prints and sketchesRecognize material(s) and their functionSetting and climbing of all sizes of polesBe available for emergency after hour response and participate in on call duty rotationPerform transmission line switchingPerform transmission line EPZ groundingMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Education:High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum Experience:Apprentice 4th Year: 4 years of experience requiredJourneyman Lineman: 5 years of experience requiredMinimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to use physical strength to perform required tasks in all weather conditionsAbility to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as requiredGood communication skillsAbility to take and understand directives and complete tasks with limited supervisionAbility to plan and lay out all work in a safe and efficient mannerAbility to assume a lead role and direct the work of other linemenRequired to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and proceduresAbility to learn through classroom instruction, OJT and repetitive motionsAbility to climb and work off of poles of various heightsAbility to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to eliminate and or mitigate the hazardsAbility to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assetsAbility to meet the public in a pleasant and tactful manner and understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer serviceAbility to recognize opportunities for process improvementDemonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer basePreferred:Ability to work with others and maintain a positive attitude in extreme working situations andan ever-changing work environmentAbility to converse with customers in a professional and courteous mannerMust be committed to quality and a high level of service satisfaction and render first class service to all customersClass A CDL is preferred but can be obtained within the 1st 6 month of employment.
