Frontier is the most fuel-efficient of all major U.S. carriers when measured by ASMs per fuel gallon consumed.What Will You Be Doing?Strategic Sourcing is an important and impactful department within the airline that has high visibility with senior management and executives. This team is the airlines commercial relationship owner for OEMs and major technical suppliers (such as Airbus, Pratt & Whitney, and CFM) as well as ground handling suppliers that impact overall fleet structure and operations. The team is charged with leading these long-term contractual relationships, managing the airlines aircraft and engine purchase agreements, and is the commercial focal point for multi-year tech ops and airport ops agreements from concept through to execution and management. This position will take responsibility over key supplier relationships and/or business areas to evaluate long-range business needs against the current setup, propose, model and negotiate contract modifications, lead or contribute to RFPs in major fleet, tech ops and airport ops disciplines, track supplier performance and resolve commercial / contract issues. This position builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders as part of a matrixed organization and represents the airline externally in interactions and negotiations with the airlines largest and most critical suppliers. This role is considered a subject matter expert on the airlines fleet and major technical and airport operations contracts. This position combines commercial negotiation, long-range planning and strategy, financial analysis, and relationship and contract management across Frontiers most critical fleet, technical operations and airport services suppliers. This position will also have exposure to real-time operational events and take a leading role in mitigation and problem solving. As a senior member of the team, the position will interact frequently with senior Frontier executives including departmental VPs/SVPs and the CFO. It will also be responsible for managing and developing junior team members.Essential FunctionsSupplier leadershipServe as the commercial owner and focal point for assigned OEM, Tech Ops, or Airport vendor portfolios, including Airbus, CFM, Pratt & Whitney, MROs, and/or major ground handlersLead negotiations, contract amendments and resolve performance matters and other issues driving a high performance supplier base.
