SYEP exposes youth to various publicand private-sector industries, provides employment placement, buildsfinancial capabilities, and offers training to increase theirself-efficacy and gain the work experience and skills needed to succeedin the current and future economy. TheCYW SYEP Coordinatorisexpected to deliver and support high-quality, innovative, andcomprehensive services that empower youth employees to thrive and tocollaborate with community partners and employers to ensure qualitycareer exploration and development experiences for youth.YouthCoordinatorResponsibilitiesinclude:ProgramImplementationandYouthEmployeeSupervision:- Youth coordinators will facilitate, direct, and supervise all programmatic activities involving youth.- Act as the liaison to participants, BUILD, and DFSS personnel.- Build strong, positive relationships with youth participants and facilitate team-building between participant cohorts.- Facilitate weekly job readiness, financial literacy workshops, and work readiness skills assessments.- Engage youth in wraparound services within their agency and work with external partners to provide additional support to youth identified as at-risk.- Monitor youth participants placement at a work site for six weeks to ensure completion.- Maintain communication and a working relationship with the work sites or the specialized training program.- Develop and implement creative strategies to retain youth participants throughout the program.- Assist with data collection and entry into Cityspan and other DFSS-designated platforms.- Implement performance measurement tools with youth participants and ensure completion.- Attend mandatory training and meetings as requested by DFSS, including, but not limited to, training for Cityspan and a DFSS-designatedDocumentationandCompliance- Ensure applicants meet program eligibility requirements.- Ensure applicants submit all required employment documentation.- Ensure applicants' documentation is recorded in internal and external databases by set deadlines.- Ensure applicants are matched to a worksite that fits their skill sets and interests when possible.- Ensure applicants' timesheets are accurately submitted and on time for payroll processing in Paylocity.- Maintain accurate attendance in the Cityspan database system.- Report all suspected fraud, work abandonment, or misconduct by an employer or employee to the Director of Education and Career Services.- Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline such as Social Services, Education, or related fields.- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth who experience complex trauma is preferred but not required.- Familiarity with social-emotional learni ng, restorative justice, and trauma-informed approaches to youth development preferred, but not required.- Experience facilitating workshops and lesson plans.- Experience working with CBOs, community stakeholders, and CPS.- Highly organized with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills- Proficiency with technology (Microsoft Office) and tech integration into daily program operations and evaluation systems.- An automobile with insurance and a valid drivers license.- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
