Knack Works is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Junior to Mid-Level DevOps engineer to support the design, implementation and maintenance of our infrastructure in the Chantilly, VA office. The role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience managing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, servers, networks and IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, security and reliable operation.Duties/Task and Responsibilitiesu00b7 Proficient with Windows and Linux systemsu00b7 Manage systems hardware and software infrastructure for both on prem and in the cloudu00b7 Provide hardware and software support for users, customers and personnelu00b7 Collaborate with a team of engineers to design, implement and test features and functionality to support Knack Worksu2019 high performance computing productsu00b7 Support the development of system documentationu00b7 Develop and define techniques and tools to support the most efficient solution to meet program needsu00b7 Maintain and provide technical expertise in all areas of hardware, software and networkingu00b7 Ability to troubleshoot systems, performance, and security issuesu00b7 Perform hardware and software installation, cabling coordination, and basic networkingu00b7 Follow change management and implementation best practicesu00b7 Collaborate with systems, security, and support teams as neededu00b7 Scripting experience (e.g., Powershell, C#, C++, XML, JSON, etc)u00b7 Execute and coordinate the end-to-end remediation of critical and high-risk vulnerabilities, including analysis, patching, mitigation, and validation.u00b7 Deploy, upgrade and manage containerized applications in a Kubernetes Clusteru00b7 Build containerized applications to include building containers, writing helm charts, and testing helm deployments in Dev and Test Kubernetes Clustersu00b7 Automate infrastructure tasks using tools such as Ansible, Python or Bash Qualifications:u00b7 3-7 years of hands-on Windows Server OS and Linux system administration experienceu00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fieldSolid understanding of:u00b7 Windows OSu00b7 Linuxu00b7 Experience with installation and implementation of hardware, software and networking equipmentu00b7 Familiarity with common hardware vendors (e.g., HP, Dell, etc.) and cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.)u00b7 Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentationu00b7 Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skillsu00b7 Good communication and collaborations skills with the ability to work in a team environmentu00b7 Experience with LAN/WAN operations and protocolsu00b7 Experience working in development and operational environmentsu00b7 Current active TS with SCI eligibility and willingness to take a polygraph examu00b7 Ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ CE certification within the first 6 months of employmentu00b7 Experience working in development and operational networking environmentsDesired Requirements:u00b7 VMware vSphere configuration and maintenance experienceu00b7 A current TS/SCI with Polyu00b7 A valid CompTIA Security+ CE certificationExperience with:u00b7 System monitoring toolsu00b7 Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure or similar)u00b7 Experience working in an enterprise or multi-site environmentsWhat We Offer:u00b7 Opportunity to growu00b7 Hands-on exposure to real-world network projectsu00b7 Supportive team environment with mentoringu00b7 Competitive salary and outstanding benefits packageu00b7 Training and certification supportJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
