In this role, you'll read, interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications, and technical illustrations. You'll also perform skilled repair work, on wastewater treatment plant equipment and instruments. We'll lean on you to inspect, repair and maintain electrical and/or electro-mechanical operating and control systems, equipment and fixtures.As a Maintenance Technician, youu2019ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Youu2019ll grow your expertise to help your team succeed in the safe and critical operation, maintenance and repair of mission-essential equipment and components including mechanical, electrical, and general commercial and industrial facilities systems. Youu2019ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to complex challenges that may arise in our clientu2019s facilities. Most importantly, youu2019lltake actionto ensure the safety, health and well-being of your team and our planet.Key Responsibilities:u2022 Inspects, maintains and repairs wiring and lighting systems, electrical control equipment, meters, outlets, and panelsu2022 Installs new equipment, interprets oral and written instructions, specifications, wiring diagrams, and codesu2022 Establishes and maintains scheduled electrical maintenance program for the plant's equipmentu2022 May repair electrical and electronic instrumentsu2022 Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and to prevent recurrencesu2022 Accountable for maintenance related recordkeeping and prepares routine and special reportsu2022 Ensures work orders and other data is correctly tracked and managed using appropriate computer maintenance management system (CMMS)u2022 Exercises independent judgment in solving normal work problems under general supervision of Maintenance Manager, Project Manager, or Lead using standard and special electrical tools and equipmentu2022 Keeps electrical maintenance records, prepares labor and material estimatesu2022 Understands the mathematics of electricity and machinesu2022 Under the direction of the Team Lead, provides on-the-job training to less experienced employeesu2022 Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical machinery or equipmentu2022 Lubricates equipment and checks for malfunctionsu2022 Replaces bearings, packing, seals, shafts, sleeves, seats, or other components found in treatment plant equipmentu2022 Maintains discipline and ensures proper procedures are followedu2022 Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of worku2022 Daily and punctual attendance in the office and/or job site or off-site locations is requiredu2022 This position required to be available on an on-call basis for emergenciesu2022 ravel between work locations is requiredu2022 Performs other related duties as assignedBring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and weu2019ll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the worldu2019s most challenging Operations Management projects, together.#OMFS #BIA #OurJacobs #BoldlyMovingForward #ChallengeAccepted#LI-JA2 u2022 Two yearsu2019 experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance.u2022 Possession of a valid State Driveru2019s License with no major infractionsIdeally, you'll also have:u2022 High School Diploma or a GED Certificate.u2022 Some trade school education with an emphasis on electrical and mechanical equipment and metal fabrication.u2022 Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in the construction, repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to water/wastewater treatment plant operations and procedures; safe work practices.u2022 Demonstrated ability to use computers and computer software including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and to enter data into computerized management systems to compose and complete computer reports.u2022 Electrically Qualified as defined by OSHA.u2022 Level 1 Maintenance Certification with CWEA/MWEA.Working Conditions:Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
